Laying the foundation

It just occurred to me driving this 89 truck making yourself look desperate and poor while a fancy 04 sits in your driveway is sneakily genius.

New readers see an older "scrappy" truck she couldn't even afford to buy or repair and donate. A dodge Dakota...that doesn't garner many sympathy votes when your vehicle is nicer and newer than those you are begging for drive.

Smooth move Jenna. Smooth move.

She's a sly fox that one.

Akin to the pan handlers that get in their bmw at the end of the day.

  1. It occurred to me this morning - when someone pays her vet bills or buys her something on her wish list, it is TAX FREE to her. The poor chump who paid for it has already paid the taxes. No wonder she would rather have her fans buy her gifts or pay her bills directly. Even the Kiva loan for the truck, which we know will never get repaid, is tax free.

Jenna isn't stupid. Her followers are.

  2. If Jenna's match.com profile shows she makes 50-75k a year, which is I'm sure more than most of her donors make, why is she still begging? Can someone send a link, or do you need an account?

I wonder if posting on sites like Get Off My Internet, as well as this site, might get the word out to more people.

  3. Today she's making a blog about...dying her hair red!
The mid life crisis has hit early.
Losing weight, makeup, dying her hair...
Meanwhile, someone asked her a few weeks ago how her garden is coming along and she said, "Neglected".

  5. Today on fb, she says how much she hates people with screen names, and how they just want to hurt her feelings. Of course all the Enablers agree. I have a screen name because of other blogs I was involved with that also involved rescues, etc. Sometimes you want to collect and pass on information without being detected. I've kept it for 9 years and it actually refers to my gelding who would have been discarded into the slaughter pipeline because he was red, not flashy, if you ever see horses being loaded, unloaded for slaughter, you'll notice that over 90% are red horses. Anyway, that doesn't matter. I have never wanted to hurt her feelings, but if it takes hurt feelings to wake her up it's good. That's on her. She should have 25 to 40 years of her life ahead of her, how does she expect to fund those years? What if another financial crisis happens and nobody can send her money because they just don't have it? I don't believe the $50-75k income story, but if it's true, shame on her, she should be in jail for committing fraud. I don't care if that hurts her feelings. She's either a liar or a criminal.

  6. I wish she wasn't so opposed to having a day job that pays the bills-her writing was so much better then. Informative and inspiring without the weekly emergencies/begging for $. I feel that's all I read about now. Sad.

  7. Gah, blogger yummed up my post.....

Regarding Jenna's bitching about anonymous people on the internet:

She certainly enjoys the privacy of using her screen names shieldmare and corbie and, as far as I know, does not have her name associated with her new shieldmare site.

I certainly could use my name but what's to be gained? Nothing that could offset the risks of upsetting her unbalanced fans. We've seen her them meddle in Meredith's business, we've seen them attack another blogger and their family and we've seen Jenna publicly humiliate a woman for a pretty tame comment. Enough said.

  8. Given the way she treats anyone she perceives as a critic (Ginger anyone?) and screens comments she should not be surprised that people find a place to talk about the manipulation and craziness It's not like people are making things up about her. I emailed her a couple of years ago about her lack of gratitude expressed amid her constant asking Funny how it seemed like a lot then but pales in comparison to now. It was a respectful email worded as encouragement from my personal email. She was dismissive and condescending in her response. I don't owe her any of the same consideration after that.

  9. She's a liar - people aren't saying things to hurt her feelings. She is using it as a smokescreen to get her enablers to rush to her defense.

People are saying things about her because they are true. She begs, scams, preys on people's sympathy, manipulates, all in the name of raking in other people's hard earned money who work jobs she would never stoop to, all so she doesn't have to.

  10. Poor Jenna. Oh boo hoo. Her feelings are hurt. Yet if anyone so much as dares to question her on something, she replies with a snarky condescending answer. And then she sics her rabid fans on them.

I will continue to express my opinion and have no problem doing it anonymously.

  12. Nooooooooo! She posted that god-awful video on the Art of Asking (read: begging) again.

That was the video that turned me of to Jenna for good when she posted it a few years ago. It told me that this was how she intended to live the rest of her life - by leaching off of others. She is a parasite.

    1. It's very appropriate that Jenna holds Amanda Palmer up as a model of good behavior. Neither Amanda nor her husband lack for money, yet Amanda used Kickstarter and other crowdfunding to back her performances... without intending to give ANY of said money to the musicians playing as her backup bands. Jenna probably looks upon her as a patron deity.

  14. Besides her fire sales for fairly simple logo production, what art is JW producing? Is she writing any new books? Has anyone on this blog pledged a large enough amount of $ to be privy to the Birchthorn book?
I have no idea if she fiddles well, I've never seen proof of it? As far as her "farming" goes, ha! Her dog training hasn't gone well at all. And when she had the hawk was it, I never seen any kind of video or blog of instruction or information (day to day) about that.
Her fans that fund her should be considered "shareholders" and ask for an accounting of what was fixed on new old truck. They should also demand to see the animals in all their glory-their shelters, their food, feeding time, winter shelter etc. Not some high speed joke of a video shown not long ago. When money is needed for the wolves at the door the "shareholders" should be assured better practices will be in place next time so that mortgage payments are made on time. If I was sending money to someone regularly I would want an accounting of how it was spent. Eventually sooner than later I would want my $ to have made a difference and for the begger to have made some changes in their life so as to not have to beg as much anymore. But that's just me. I spend my money wisely and when I do give someone a hand up I do so with every hope that I have helped them not hurt them and become their enabler.

Patrons pay for art is true, I'm just curious as to what current art JW is producing. Her blog posts and vlogs generally are being produced for her new audience. What kind of content is she producing for the serious homesteader that has found her through reading Barnheart?

I think she should produce a Ted Talk on the things she is currently doing, and reveal to those that may wonder how things turned out on her "six acres" called " The Art of Begging". JMO

    1. She fancies her life a work of art and patrons should willingly fund her every want.

She's getting seriously detached from reality. There's nothing on her blog but money begs or crisis updates or back patting. She has nothing to say that isn't a hint or outright request for donations. She's not a "creative" as she likes to say, she doesn't make anything. Where's the art? Birchthorn was just a ploy to get some quick Kickstarter bucks, it's not a labor of love, she's not chomping at the bit to write that masterpiece.

Jenna just likes to think of herself as an artist or a creative but not actually make any art. Like she's a farmer, hunter, knitter, spinner, sheepdog trainer........and on and on.

  16. Have you noticed how she's been giving herself weekends off from blogging? I need to just block CAF from my browser. It drives me mad and yet I still read. I guess that says something for her? What I don't understand is where all the $$$ comes from when there are hardly ever any comments. Has her CAF church business switched to primarily having a social media fanbase? I don't use social media so I don't check in there.

    1. She hasn't taken this weekend off. A rather lengthy old-style piece thanking everyone by name who has had a part in her chicken journey. It was well done and I am sure it will be appreciated. She just didn't mention the fact that up to 30% don't make it to the freezer by design since there's no predator proof tractors.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, for every chicken that makes it to her plate five died from predation.

I thought it was a typically obnoxious piece designed to entice her readers to be "part of the story" by donating or building things for her or, god forbid, buying chickens.

    3. I thought it was like her old writing. I would have liked it a year ago. BUT there was no mention of the day she went out and discovered a raccoon had some and killed so many of them... I just can't imagine how stressed and frightened they all must have been. Both the victims and the survivors. Some were killed by being pulled through the chicken wire. Is that how anyone raises chickens humanely?

  18. Jenna seems to know a lot about the people trying to "hurt her feelings" even though she freely admits she has no idea who they are. I'm not remotely miserable or unhappy and if the worst thing you can say about me is I spoke my mind about an animal abusing fraud, well, I'm good with that.

Jenna Woginrich This post was not meant to attack anyone, it was written out of frustration being my real self and dealing with people who make up fake emails, fake screenname, just to hurt my feelings.

I know some of you use fake names to stop that from happening to you, I can't. I'm an author and a blogger and my whole life is online and some people use that to hurt me, or to blame me, or to lash out with every insecurity or regret they have in their own lives. It sucks and I am tired of it.

I get emails from people about my sex life and dying alone. I get messages calling me horrible things. I get comments from people who are so unhappy with their lives they only find joy in tearing others down and it is mostly done anonymously. It's like being suckerpunched in the dark.

I'm perfectly happy and secure. If she were, such comments really wouldn't bother her anyway. There are trolls. I see no troll-like behavior on this blog. Everyone here seems concerned for her animals' welfare, and concerned about those that have been scammed and ripped off by her. I find no connection between this concern and anyone being, or not being, happy in their lives. None.

Again, it all circles back to Jenna, right? How she feels, etc. Classic narcissistic thinking.

    3. anon 934 here. I'm sorry I called it - this kind of malignant fraudsterism is dangerous and pathetic all at once. She's been paid for the root canal several times over now, now there will be an urgent care "visit", and possibly a hospital "visit", perfectly predictable events which is why poodles pay for health insurance. Planning for the worst, hoping for the best. But live like fiction grasshoppers have no need for planning, health insurance, permission, or you know, work, until it is a crisis.

So here we go, a non-verifiable injury (until a vlog comes out with her badass eyepatch, son). Investing 2.99 in an eyepatch at the drug store could yield thousands in donations. Maybe the Kiva loaners will forgive the loan seeing as how she is disabled now.

And when this stops working, it will escalate, to fake cancer. Bet you anything. At least she won't be making proxies suffer for her now. Wow. It's just going so fast. Does she post content at all anymore? Like a recipe or how to make a drop spindle out of a cd or something. Just all begging now, right?

  22. Hey Little Antlers - It's been crazy here in Veryork and I nearly hit bottom this week. Just as Gibson is recovering from his near death experience from major surgery for stitches to his paw, doesn't Friday go and cut hers? Another $500 at the Happy Tails Vet Clinic (4302 Co Line Rd., Veryork, 12345.)

Then I almost went blind when I scratched my eye! $600 at the Good Samaritan Urgent Care Center (5411 Old Mill Rd., Veryork, 12345). It sure was cold in that waiting room. Wish I had that Outlander Tartan Shawl (www.outlandershawl.com) to wrap around me. Winter is coming you know.

As if that weren't bad enough, Hooser Truck Repair (5430 Main St., Veryork, 12345) said I need to spend $800 to get this truck road worthy.

But to top if off, some poodle emailed me and had the audacity to suggest I get a job! This is the kind of crap I have to put up with. Sic 'em fans, sic 'em.

Did I mention the above businesses take checks, MasterCard and Visa?
