Chicken mom?

Is that chicken mom to the right?

"Thanks for posting them! I'm kind of proud (although I'm sure their chicken-mama is prouder!)

These babies are half Cayuga (a larger black breed) and half Khaki. Obviously, they take after their Cayuga mom. "

You should be proud!

  1. I love the coloring on the ducks and, boy, do they grow fast. Good job to both mamas!

I saw this video the other day about a cat that mothers some ducklings-- really amazing. It's actually a couple years old but what the hey, still cute.

  2. As a matter of fact, it is chicken-mom! I can tell as her comb is smaller from all that stress of brooding. It's coming back, but I can still tell her apart from the other six Australorps. :-)

  3. Thanks anon 11:20! Wow that video is amazing! And I thought my ducks having a chicken-mama was weird. Cracks me up when the mama cat tries to carry the duckling back to the bed. LOL
