Gibson 3 legs

Per Jennas plan shouldn't the useless not herding or working dog Gibson be taken out back and shot?

Btw, 3 legged dogs do just fine.

Cali, the black dog pictured, has 3 legs and is 10.5 and could run circles around Jenna.

Want to know what a real surgery costs associated with an amputation? $2,300.

Stiches aren't surgery.

Why did she purchase and fly in another dog if she can afford the ones she already has?

"The vet said I could leave him here and return in a few hours but I asked if I could stay. Gibson has never left my side, and I wasn't going to start now. I asked if I could stay and be there for the surgery and the wonderful folks at Cambridge Valley Vet said I could."

Didn't she just leave him for the day and take her puppy somewhere?

Oh the lies...

  1. How about this whopper:

"The toe pad was a weight-bearing toe and as both a working farm dog and athlete - stitches were needed."

Working dog? STOP. Official Livestock Harrasser she means.

Gibsons never leaves her side--- except when she's having a jam session with the new puppy or going to the sheepdog trials or he has too much chicken shit on him to get in the truck.

  4. Did Gibson flay his paw on the old new truck or the new old truck, wonder if he was competing for attention since JW just keeps taking photos of herself all the time.
    From the NY Times:
Much of the research on selfies reveals that (surprise!) people who take a lot of them tend to have narcissistic, psychopathic and Machiavellian personality traits — which may explain why they are oblivious when they bonk you on the head with their selfie sticks. This is not to say that everyone who takes a selfie is a psychopath, but it does imply a high need for self-gratification, particularly if they are posted online for social approval.

  5. I can't believe she didn't fulfill her promise to her poultry customers on time for stitches in a paw. A young healthy dog is not going to DIE getting stitches. Geez. What if any of her customers counted on this food THIS WEEK and given that it was likely already paid for, couldn't just go out and buy other chicken for the week? Does she care? Nope. She could leave the dog with a competent vet to fulfill her work obligations by taking the chickens. The slaughter guy probably counted on this money this week as well... Life happens, yes, but responsibility still stands. For 10 years, my only family has been my 2 dogs. I had to put one down on July 24. It was awful. On Aug.6, the only other member of my family had a stroke and I had to make the heart breaking decision to put her down too at 11am. I had a very serious 4pm work meeting that mattered for other families. I almost called to cancel because I had lost everything I cared about in 2 weeks time....but I cried for one hour, then pulled it together from 12pm-5pm on Aug. 6 to get through something that mattered for others. Then I fell apart after 5pm and am still a total wreck. She is a freaking CHILD - she only cares about HER life. I seriously hope none of those families COUNTED on that poultry as FOOD this week and I hope the slaughter guy could go another week without his money. She sucks.

    1. So sorry for the devastating loss of your babies. My dog had stitches in paw and I left her to the professionals to do their jobs and picked her up later, because like with you and other normal people, life requires a judicious use of our time. But then, we're not starring and attempting to direct our own personal reality show. With Jenna, every event must be ramped up and milked for maximum dramatic effect to.KEEP.THEM WA HING!! Unfortunately, the animals are really just bit players - walk-on used to direct attention to the Star. Too bad they don't have a union.

    5. She's not strapped for cash and appears to not know what a budget is. Jenna does not think in terms of planning ahead, for herself or others.

She's never been hungry, she wants for nothing (comfort or material).

      How unfullfilling.

    6. I know exactly how you feel. We lost our two dogs a few years ago. One died while we were at state fair and the other died while we were at the county fair. Both times I found out before DD was suppose to show and I had to decide whether to tell her or wait until the show was over.

Tough decision. Tough also because both dogs had to be taken care of before we got home, so there was no saying goodbye or anything.

A very sad time but even we had to soldier on.

    7. Oh Anon 11:19pm, I'm so very sorry for you. My heart would break, I understand the deep love of dogs.

I agree with your point, as well. Your comment RE: a family expecting that chicken for the dinner table really struck a chord with me. In the past, I've forced myself to fulfill commitments and attend important work functions amidst loss, funerals, grief, and more. Responsibilities to others are a part of life..... unless you're inhumane.

      Again, my sympathies.

    8. You are so right A. No matter what happens people have to put on foot in front of the other and move forward even though it's hard.

I've always been stumped by the women I knew who got divorced, had a death in the family or some other tragedy and just went to bed for days, weeks or months.

Commitments have to be upheld. Families have to be cared for and farms have to be fed. That may seem callous, but that's life...the good and the bad.

I have a co-worker whose mother is 91 and dieing, but he's at work every day because we're working on a huge project that can't lose momentum.

Even I went to work the day after my beloved dog who I had since college bled out from getting into rat poision under our 100-year old farmhouse. We didn't know it was there and when she fell sick we rushed her to the emergency room, but because we had no idea what she had gotten into she was way past saving by the time we deduced that's what it could be.

I was a total wreck, but I had responsibilities and people depending on me.

JW's situation is barely a blip on life's road, yet she becomes overwrought. That's not coping, that's melodrama.

    9. Wow, I don't even know all of you are you have been so nice to me about the loss of my two sweet dogs. Most people don't understand why I am struggling inside (though still functioning on the outside as is NORMAL, ahem) so much with this. I don't have a husband or kids to come home to. This past Monday was the first time in 10 years, I came home to ...nothing. It is brutal, but I will be okay eventually. THANK YOU so much. I might take you up on a tribute to my girls if I can stop crying long enough every time I try to write something about them! Its interesting though how grief comes in waves often when you aren't even thinking about the loss. Time is the best healer, right?

      Delete
    10. There's nothing wrong with grieving and time helps but if you're like me...expect endless waves of grief. They become less frequent but never end (at least with the loss off Eddie...and mourning a pet can be just as difficult as mourning a person). Not encouraging I guess but that's been my experience.

  7. She drummed up some business alright-- $300 drum SOLD to the dumbest bidder! Nevermind it looks like the kind of crap left hanging around at a tag sale on a Sunday afternoon. Why not take the now redundant Dakota to the junkyard for some quick cash?

I thought she was a hardened homesteader-farmer-viking-lady-wolf? Surely she could get a paw patched up without having the vapors. And it's not surgery -- it's stitches, not quite the same thing. Unless you're trying to convince people something MAJOR went down in Jackson and Gibson might be out of work. Not that the sheep have to be moved anywhere and not that Gibson is trained to herd anyway. Unless you call circling the chicken tractors like the Indy 500 herding.

This is getting to be a quarterly event-- Gibson goes the vet, Jenna flips out that he might be taken by the Gods. Last fall he had a tick disease-- major FB drama. In March he slipped on the ice and was lame-- $$$$, please! Then he had a hot spot. Now this super tragic paw injury. Jenna must have figured out taking Gib$on to the vet is the cash cow she needs.

  8. If there are any Jenna fans reading this, please help me understand something. What motivates you to send money to someone who is probably living the life you want? Don't you want to fund your own life? Don't you think others should fund theirs? Enlighten me please!

  9. First there is a man with a missing tooth donating to Jenna to have her tooth fixed. Then there is the man who went without pizza while Jenna was having pizza delivered to her door. What's next? Someone who will withhold vet care for their pet to contribute to Gibson's (cough, cough) 'surgery'? Someone who will put off truck repairs so she can get hers fixed?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Oh for Pete's sake, I've been driving around a 2004 POS 2wd hatchback for 8 years and with love and maintenance, it's been doing okay. Has the clutch gone out? Twice! (I lived in a *very* hilly, stop-and-go area.) How about the timing belt? Changed twice. Radiator hoses, air filters, oil leaks, busted tires, you name it. But I've never blown the engine and even though I could have put money into a newer car, it's paid for, it's cheap to insure, its gas mileage is good, and it works. I'll get a new one when I can afford it. I drive it cross-state constantly in all weather, though it sucks on ice and in bad snow. My husband has a tiny 2000 Chevy truck we use for all farm-related stuff. It works just fine. Lemons happen, but they happen a lot less when you care for your vehicles. And that will forever take money and effort, just the price of having transportation at your disposal.

      Delete
    2. My truck's a year newer, with over 186K on it and I wouldn't think twice about going across the country in it.

If she took care of the necessary repairs and maintenance she would have gotten many more years out of her truck.

      Delete
    3. Exactly! The two old-ish cars in my household can take us wherever we need to go, both the truck and the hatchback, and it's only because of maintenance and repairs, just like any car. A real shame to let a 2004 Dakota go to seed, buying another one that age would probably be at least 7 grand... she could have tried to borrow the money to fix her truck instead, or just, maybe, not borrow money and have at least one steady part-time job that could pay for those repairs. Grinds my gears...

--Just happens to use Rocket from GotG to illustrate her raccoon post.

--Wednesday 9:30 AM posts pic of GotG soundtrack in her hot little hand.

That means someone saw the call for tapes, recognized the GotG tape from the pic, knew Jenna didn't already have it, liked her enough to shell out for it, ordered it immediately, and it arrived in her rural mailbox bright and early Wednesday morning.

Laura Skidmore It's not paid for. You have a loan for it through Kiva. As I said in my comment on your blog (which was never published), you lost me when you said you were buying the truck outright. Um, no - you have a loan for it, it's just that your loan is backed by individuals rather than by a bank. Definitely not an outright purchase, and definitely not paid for.

And her horse cart that she sold/rebought or didn't sell (maybe she's just been "storing" it) That her readers don't care that she blatantly plays the poor me I must sell my beloved posessions card mystifies me. Not just that she asks them to buy crap, but to ask people to buy your beloved crap is so manipulatively cruel, and asking them to be cruel because why would someone who wants to help take away her special things, even at jacked-up prices. Of course, she will store them because she knows they don't really want them. So this is a real question: do you think she gets some kind of weird pleasure from getting money from the fans and then rubbing their faces in her careless spending? And the whole I'm so focused on Gibby's recovery and being at his side. Unless I can be at a bar.
While I'm going off: the way she brags about bringing her dogs in stores and the post office. Yet doesn't allow workshop attendees to bring their dogs! "For insurance reasons". She's missing a business opportunity. She could badger workshop attendees for fines if their dog craps in her yard. Even better if an attendee's dog happens to hurt a chicken!! I'm sure that dog would pick the chicken with a $1500 replacement value. As appraised by JW, of course.

You know, you may be on to something. I remember seeing a movie about Liberace. He would come on stage with an over the top costume, huge diamonds glittering on his fingers and sometimes a luxury car. Then he would ask the audience, "how do you like my _______? You paid for it". And the crowd would go wild.

So maybe she does get some pleasure in rubbing their faces in it.

She's now had three vehicles in the time I've had one, and I'll bet we have more money in the bank than she does. I can't afford to live her lifestyle, I have retirement and a nest egg to think about. I know someone else in my family who is a compulsive spender, and she has also had three or four cars in the time I've had this one -- and the loans to go with them.

    2. For someone who pays a lot of lip service to sustainability she has a very wasteful, consumptive lifestyle.

    3. Didn't I read some w here that the guy that took the Subaru fixed it and sold it? Wouldn't be surprised. She appears to be a total airhead ditz about vehicles. I'm sure the dodge truck just needs some decent maintenance. She wanted the ford to look cool with all her hipster friends at the brewery.

    5. And that's probably all the Subaru needed as well. Those cars will run forever if you maintain them.

    6. Ok, I had a look.

It was a paid off 2002 Subaru -- she sold it for "a couple hundred bucks". She explained "Transmission ruined, cat converter gone bad, a destroyed interior, busted fuses, no working wiper fluid tubes, electrical problems...I ride them hard." That was Jan. 2011.

From there she drove her Ranger and got the 2004 Dakota in March.

Then there's a teary follow up post where she sees the Subaru being driven by someone else after it had been fixed up and resold. Sheesh.

She had a complete meltdown about the whole situation. It's kind of like her root canal-- these things don't happen overnight. And really, she had a second vehicle so why was she freaking out at all? She could have driven the Ranger while she got the money together to repair the car.

It's all about what she wants at any cost.

    7. So if I'm reading this right, counting this new Kiva-acquired truck that would be four vehicles from 2011 to 2015? That's a new (to her) car every year or so. And this for someone who homesteads and therefore stays on the property for days at a time?
