Ayrshire Farm Abuse

Help spread the word about the pigs abused and neglected at Certified Humane Ayrshire Farm in Upperville VA. I worked there and what goes on is horrific. The farm owner Sandy Lerner is going to court for criminal animal cruelty based on a criminal complaint I made because Loudoun County Animal Services refuses to publically acknowledge the abuse or press charges. Please sign the petition to reopen the criminal animal cruelty investigation against Ayrshire Farm.

I'm sorry for the graphic images of the pigs from Ayrshire Farm but need to show the extent of the problem. Untreated pigs with mange, pig lice, severe internal parasites, coccidia, etc. Not one vet was called to the farm during my 9 months working there to examine a pig. A vet never looked at any of these pigs.

Please consider signing the petition requesting Loudoun County Animal Services to reopen the criminal animal cruelty investigation at Ayrshire Farm.

  1. I just searched for this case but found nothing. No who, what, and where.

    Who are the parties?
    What is the case number?
Where is the court located that is hearing this case?

Have you authenticated the photographs for the court? Authentication means each photograph is mounted/embedded on a piece of paper that provides basic information, such as the identity of the photographer, the date and time the photo was taken, the location/address where the photo was taken, and a brief description of what is depicted in the photo. The best practice is to have each authenticated photo as an affidavit signed and notarized. Otherwise you have a bunch of photos that are not admissible under the rules of evidence. The photos could be of any farm anywhere as far as the law is concerned. Sometimes a court will allow a person to identify the photo while on the witness stand, while under oath, but not always. That is risky when there are many photos because there are so many details to remember.

    1. There is an active summons for Sandy Lerner stuck in the Warrant Division of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Until she is physically served a trial date is not formally set and publically searchable by date or defendent. They are having difficulty locating Sandy. The initial date was set for late July.

The trial will be in Leesburg, VA in Loudoun County General District Court.

I am able to submit the pictures as physical photos. They were submitted already in the trial against Ayrshire Farms Large Livestock Manager Crystal Ritenour. The farm doesn't deny these are photos of their pigs.
