Blog views yesterday.

Someone's catching onto something.

Did a tree job with Johnathon this morning and went to the river until dark.

Paddled, swam...can into my coworker kayaking while camping with his dad.  Small river!

Goodbye Shenandoah.

Hello Susquehanna.

..and of course worked on Ayrshire/Sandy Lerner court prep.

What did you do today?

  1. As usual, I'm working. I'm an independent contractor transcriptionist, so I work all the time!

    1. How did you get into that? I've been exploring/researching working as a transcriptionist and not finding many actual jobs. I have a job but would like another source g income that I could use for just fun money.

    2. I'm not off to a very good start with a typo, am I? Source of income*

  2. Love the smell of fresh cut hay:)

    This weekend I:

    Got DD off to college.

Ran errands - groceries, gas, stocking up on winter stuff. Taking advantage of the back-to-school sales.

Organized my pantry to see what I'm running low on.

Set up a grey water diversion system to water my fruit trees with the laundry water. CA is so so dry.

Made 5 pounds of sauerkraut, 2 pounds of pickled beets, and a crock pot pork roast in mushroom gravy.

Wrote/scheduled 4 blog posts...not about myself or riding ponies and started a 5th, but at 10:45 it was time for bed.

Researched and ordered a water purification system.

    Church

Rearranged my patio, and part of the garage.

    Fed/watered animals.

    Dinner with a friend.

    I'm sure there's a bunch more that I'm forgetting.

And, I did all that without a pint of beer or flask of whiskey in my hand;) Go figure.

    1. I understand not wanting a link here for the angry JW mob. But it sounds like I'd love to read your blog!

    2. Thank you for understanding Anon 7:44.

I've already experienced the psycho mobbing of JWs lunatic fans, all egged on by JW herself. I don't want to put my readers through that again.

These nut cases even went after people who had links to their own blogs in my comment section.

And, because I mention my DD in some of my posts I was getting comments from her male readers about tracking DD down and showing her what real men can do. And, in my mind because JW did nothing she was advocating for violence against a young woman who had nothing to do with her or CAF. It got to the point where I had to alert DDs college and let them know what had happened because you never know where these people are.

It just spiraled out of control for no good reason, because it wasn't even anything I wrote on JWs blog, I don't comment on her blog, not worth my effort. It was something one of her nut case fans took exception to on my blog that was unrelated to JW or CAF. That is how twisted and out-of-touch she and they really are.

If JW had an ounce of decency, which she doesn't, or a moral compass which she doesn't, she could have/would have shut them down with one comment, but she was too busy basking in the glow of her fans coming to her rescue.

These idiots who follow her think that she is an inspiring person, well I have news for you...she's a vicious, vindictive little troll who takes a great deal of pleasure in playing the victim while her fans fight her battles.

So, sorry Anon, I won't be posting my blog here even though I think you would find it interesting and useful. You won't however, find me killing my livestock out of neglect, pooping in the woods, or running around with my boobs hanging out in front of a camera, or any of the other weird things she posts on her blog. I have way more class than that.

    3. That is appalling and I am so sorry it happened to you and your DD.

    4. Wow, anon 11:37 that is appalling. You did the right thing by contacting DD's school. Myself, I might have even called the police or Interpol, or something. Unbelievable. Mass psychosis over there, sounds like.

    5. That is frightening to the extreme and not surprising at all given the caliber of Jenna and her fan base. Sorry that happened.

    6. It was appalling, and so unnecessary. But, I've been around the block.

One of the nice things about being a pioneer farming family with a legal firm on retainer is that you don't have to go far for advice.

The other good thing about being a pioneer farming family with a legal firm on retainer is that legitimate businesses with half a brain sit up and listen when you calmly and politely, but firmly, explain how YOU will be handling the situation. That gets more attention than any scrappy farmgirl could ever muster.

They're not worth stepping into the splatter zone for.

    7. Wow anon 11:37. The comments made on CAF often worry me. The worst part is the way Jenna seems to love getting them riled up, like she did a few days ago with the "Dear Ginger " post. I'm afraid some of her Enablers have spent too much time on cumputer games and have problems with the real world. There is never any cause to mention or threaten someone's family. They need to get a life, a real life.

    8. Anon 11:37-- I'm sorry that happened to you and your family. I'm surprised but not surprised, if you know what I mean.

  4. Wow, that's weird, Meredith. It did have some trouble posting, like it did not post the first time I tried. I you would post it for Anon 7:18, that would be great! (Let's see if this reply posts!)

    1. From Duckmom...

Hi, Anon 7:18. About eight years ago, I too wanted a side income. I have been working part-time with one company for that long. Then, I decided to try to go full time with it (it's not easy!) but I do love working from home, and being home. I was a legal secretary for 18 years, so that helped.

I researched, searched the Internet and came up with a list of companies. I applied all over, went through some really bad companies (low-paid or sometimes didn't pay on time). Eventually for the past year or two, I have a few companies I work for that I'm happy with, they're happy with me.

You will need some basic equipment to do this job. A newer computer, MS Word for most accounts, a fairly fast Internet connection, a foot pedal to control your audio, an audio player (Express Scribe has a downloadable free version), and headphones.

Try Googling "transcription jobs" and variation. Here is a link to a list of companies, some of which hire newbies. In addition to this site, though, I would search the net for more. That's how I found mine, just through diligent online searching. You won't make much at first, but as you gain experience, you can apply for those companies that require experience (and pay more).

None of the companies I now work for hire newbies, but start with Googling and the links here:

      http://freelancetranscriptionistroad.com/list-of-transcription-companies/

      http://transcriptionhubpros.com/list-of-30-stunning-transcription-companies-hiring-now/

Good luck! Let me know how it goes. :-)

    2. I sometimes have problems when I reply to a post using my phone. Things get caught up in the anti-bot verification.

It's especially bad when my connection is spotty.

      Technology:( Love it. Hate it.

    3. Thanks so much for the answer! Luckily, I have the equipment. I'll look into it today. Figure I might as well make some money instead of look for things to watch on Netflix.

  7. For sale: her djembe drum--- she's had it since college and it's traveled all over America with her (here's the sentimental value) asking price $300.

This is to be put towards Gibson's bill........how much could it cost to have a paw stitched up, even w/anesthesia?

How many people really woke up this morning and thought "You know, I've always wanted a djembe drum."

  8. Does anyone else smell a diversion of truck funds to save poor Gibby?

She barely even hits the 48-hour mark before the begging begins again. She's like an addict desperate for a fix.

"How much is this priceless treasure?" excuse me while I vomit...blaaahhh!

  9. Anon 11:37 - I am so sorry you were subject to such appalling behavior from JW's fans. I have been reading Meredith's blog for years and while there is plenty of commentary about CAF and JW, I have never heard one threat. Not one. And I have never heard of anyone here posting threats on her blog. Comments, maybe. Threats, no. And it would never be tolerated. Heck, even if someone posts a comment about her weight, scores of people jump in saying that topic is off limits.

So I was shocked to hear what you experienced. Hope it never happens again.

  10. My day job for 14 hours follow by farm chores. I don't live off donations and begging. Tomorrow I going to spend with friends, after I do the chores, as a well deserved day of rest.
