Good fencing

Jenna Woginrich ‏@coldantlerfarm

Moved sheep across several properties & back home safe with a sheepdog named Gibson. A good farm dog is worth his weight in kinder hippos.

A dog doing the fences job.

Interesting approach.

Good fencing is key!

  1. It's all fun and games until her sheep cause a car accident. I can't believe how lightly she takes this. I'm sure her neighbors find it just adorable, the clueless hipster who can't keep her livestock off their properties and out of the road. It sounds like she lets the puppy in the road, too--- wtf?

  2. We had a neighbor whose cattle used to get out all the time and no one thought it was funny after about the second time or so. We just got mad that the person would not install adequate fencing to stop the problem.

  3. She thinks she's a hipster homesteader, but the evidence speaks for itself=redneck hillbilly. Good job Jenna.

  4. One car accident and then it'll be legal fund entreaties. Ka-CHING!

  5. Effing sheep still not getting enough to eat. What does expect?

  6. I never had sheep. How common is it for sheep to escape over and over again?

    1. Escaped livestock should not be a chronic problem. Sure, any farm can have animals get out (trees fall on the fences, get left open) but it seems to be the norm at CAF. At one point she said some of the sheep would cross the road daily to eat apples.....? The absurd thing is she has very little fence to maintain, a couple acres, do it once and do it right. You have to wonder if she's underfeeding them.........

    2. We used to have sheep for years, and only one ever escaped. I know others who have large flocks, they rotate pastures and move their sheep all the time and none escape. I think you have to put up good fences first, and then maintain them. If you have more than one escape, you're really not paying attention.

  7. Her sheep are on the road ALL THE TIME, as are the geese. Property lines are made for poodles, this is a RIGHT TO FARM place creepy guy

    1. Turkeys, too. Her neighbor posted on FB that she almost had an early Thanksgiving dinner.

  8. No responsible animal owner (pet or agriculture) allows their animals to routinely wander at will unattended at their leisure.

    Bottom line.

  10. A tad off topic, but when I was checking FB I saw this post somewhere:

When a narcissist can no longer control you, they will instead try to control how others see you.

"Narcissists tend to have an inflated sense of self-worth and base their identity on the praise and approval of others. Their intimate relationships are superficial and focused mostly on how other people reflect on them, with little to no empathy for the other person’s experience. They genuinely believe that they’re better than other people..."

  11. Remind you of anyone?????

"No matter how loud or quiet they are, all extreme narcissists are addicted to feeling special; much the way alcoholics soothe themselves with liquor instead of asking for care or comfort, highly narcissistic people choose their own drug, feeling special, over happiness, honour, truth—even love. Whether they pursue their high through arrogance or self-sacrifice, their terror of truly depending on others gives them away; they’ll do anything to hide feeling scared or lonely or ashamed because they don’t trust people to support them. When narcissism becomes our sole means of feeling good, it becomes deeply unhealthy."

Totally hits the nail on the head.

  13. Those talking head vlogs show she can't get enough of herself. I know many of you don't like Jon Katz, but at least his photos or videos are of his animals or other people.

    1. I agree! I find it at worst disturbing and at best boring that JW doesn't provide more of a visual picture of her farm. We're always catching glimpses but never anything that isn't an extreme closeup of her or the animals.. I think it is very calculated on her part...
When I was a fan of hers I had a dream that I visited her "farm" and it was basically a house with a small garden and a few animals. I was taken aback and couldn't believe how different it was in real life. This was back when I was a fan! I think it was my subconscious saying "HEY DUMMY, PAY ATTENTION!!!" hahaha

  14. From FB:

"People have been asking about the boots in the picture with Anna. They are these Equestrian Boots."

OK the link shows the boots she has which are over $200. WTF?????

  15. If she spent even half the money she spends on toys on her animals' fencing, barns, and care they'd at least be getting the minimum.

  16. It is arrogant in the extreme to be lax about your animals roaming. The people in our area whose animals roam are never apologetic when you report it to them. In my experience they are downright rude. The only thing that usually works is calling the police.

  17. On the other hand, it must be entertaining watching two semi-trained dogs run in circles around a bad handler struggling to get a handful of disgruntled sheep a hundred yards back to their spent pasture, where a loop of bailing twine will secure the "fence" that enables it to happen all over again tomorrow. I might even pay to see such a thing. Possible income alert!
