  1. Love the beautiful wooden shoes and saw the other pair in the photo with your mom wearing her Norwegian sweater. Is there Dutch in your family background also?

  2. Referenced incorrect other photo; it's not in the one with your mom! (looked at them a bit earlier, not this moment). All your holiday pics are so nice.

  5. The Dutch farmers wear the clogs outside..I thought they were nuts until I bought a pair myself and tried it out..they make this loud clomping sound but man do they work when you are out weeding and walking in the dirt and mud..I don't laugh anymore..lol

    1. The partner of my first riding instructor was Dutch and he would stuff his clogs with straw for warmth when it was cold.

Do they eventually mold to your feet?

We also have a pair of non ornamental daily use clogs not pictured. They are too big for me to get a good feel on them though.

  6. I think over time they would but I find them to be a tad uncomfortable when it comes to wearing them all the time while outside and have never been able to really wear mine in. I have that shape above in the rough form..no paint or anything just wooden and that is what the farmers and various gardeners where..They also wear Crocs now but I don't like those at all.
