It has come to my realization this blog has become a 110% bitch fest.
Many moons ago I read and commented on the Cold Antler Farm blog. Jenna Woginrich was offended by my comments and asked that I no longer comment on her blog.
So I commented about it on my own blog.
At this point every post I make become a "Jenna" post.
For example...the post about my great grandparents I posted on thanksgiving.
Im requesting CAF and Jenna Woginrich no longer consume this blog. She disgusts me. Everything about her is disturbing.
This blog has turned into 99.99% Cold Antler Farm content and it's time to take it to the source:
Here are some alternatives...
1. Jenna can be reached directly by email and by commenting on her blog.
2. If you have been taken advantage of in an illegal manner, contact the appropriate authorities or agency necessary to right your wrong. This blog can't help you. This blog won't "factually" help others. Take her to small claims court.

I'm not saying to stop discussing the wrongs, just direct the comments to the blog created to expose Jenna Woginrich.
Constantly reading all the comments that come through my email about Jenna Woginrich is distracting from my cause.
Ayrshire Farm abuses and neglects animals and deceives/manipulates people on a scale so much greater than Jenna it's hard to fathom. The combined suffering and untimely deaths of Jennas animals from day one occurs within a week at Ayrshire Farm.
No, the train wreck is not as obvious to you but it is to me. Want to help? Become a soldier for my cause.
Call Loudoun County and send emails. If the amount of people that are engaged (hundreds) in the CAF posts all emailed Loudoun County they would spring to action.
The lack of comments and traffic on my Ayrshire Farm posts are heartbreaking and disappointing. If those who comment about Jenna truly cared about the suffering of animals they would also take time to help the animals at Ayrshire.
This is no longer going to be a forum for drama and words, it is a forum for action.
I never gave Jenna a dime, I don't have evidence other than her own admissions of animal abuse. I know others have been stolen from. I know others gave witnessed neglect. It is up to you all to speak up.
Again, my focus is Ayrshire Farm and that's what will be the highlight of this blog. Myself and my cause has been buried by Cold Antler Farm in a way that I'm no longer willing to allow.
I'm sorry for those who are disappointed. Please use the sham blog to discuss CAF or start your own blog, I'd be willing to post a link here.

ReplyDeleteI will continue to come here because you are an inspirational person. Focusing on yourself and your causes must be difficult with all the Jenna posts happening. Although those Jenna posts are valid, it isn't doing anything other than giving people a place to vent. I'm not sure how much good is coming out of that. If people want to get the word out, a website dedicated only to Jenna is the way to go.

ReplyDeleteGood for you indeed! I am guilty of reading CAF on here, because it has had the most lively updates, but had been getting tired of ping-ponging between CAF and here looking for reactions. I got sucked into the drama. I do applaud you for the donations you collected to correct karmically someone elses wrong, and am glad you did that here.
ReplyDeleteI don't comment much about Ayrshire Farm because I haven't done the research about the history of your file against them, but want to support you in your cause. I also really like seeing and reading about your dogs :-) It seems like lately you are doing a lot of soul searching, and I am looking forward to reading about you and what you are passionate about!
Best of luck with your work Meredith and putting together the life you're looking for. I certainly understand your frustration and dismay about the way CAF has taken over your blog and interests. Appreciate the forum for CAF relief you've provided but get that it's time for it to be over, at least here.
ReplyDeleteMeredith, I think you and I first got in touch several years ago when we both had similar issues with something JW was doing on her hobby farm and tried offering advice in the comments section of her blog, only to be dismissed quite rudely. Since then I've followed JW's blog via this one, refusing to give her any blog "hits" or watch any vlogs. But the most important thing has already happened for me. The one thing I wished for was that she no longer was a rising star in the homesteading world since I felt she was incompetent (at best) or dangerous (at worst). At the time she was a speaker at the Mother Earth News Fair, I was aghast. And thankfully since that time she has moved on -- to heathenism, to Anna Kendrick and other celebrities she has girl-crushes on, to make-up and heels, to the whole "Highlander" phase, etc. She has taken herself out of the position for anyone to really take her seriously as a homesteader, and I think that's for the best. For someone to take her advice at this point or send her money, they have to be in serious denial of what is, basically, information all over the internet about her and her bad business and animal husbandry practices. And so I'd say to you, mission accomplished. I don't care if she sells logos, carves God poles on her property, or showers naked. In fact I'd prefer she did all those things and wrote about them instead of offering homesteading advice. It has been nice to know I wasn't the only crazy person in the world when I would read her blog and then shout at my computer, so I'm happy to have seen so many people show up feeling the same as I did. Thank you for giving everyone a place to see that **they** were not the only ones. I wish you the best of luck with your fight against your former employer, I think we all know of cases like this and its important to fight the good fight wherever we witness animal neglect or abuse.

ReplyDeleteI've written MANY snark filled snipe fests but I can honestly say I'm glad to see CAF get shown the door. JW/CAF was like a malignant tumor consuming this blog and the prognosis was grim. All that crap and negativity doesn't belong on a personal blog.

I think if someone wants to report at coldantlersham.blogspot.com, that is best, as it is only for factual complaints. We can't give her any more air time, as a narcissist, she loves it. As for Ayreshire farm abuse, keep pedaling. Like water on a rock.. In the meantime, keep your own life on track.

I've enjoyed the camaraderie found here with all of you, seeing Meredith living so passionately, and most of all the humor and intellegence. It is rare when one finds others who agree that "the emperor has no clothes."

I was also one of those that sent JW constructive comments, and spent ages worrying about the wording of them in an attempt to not 'offend' her. Thankfully I never supported her financially. I was so happy years ago to find out that others saw her the same way I did. Thanks for providing the space here. I've commented seldom, but spent too much time checking for new comments from others. Time to move on. All the best to you in your endeavours, Meredith. I'll check in here occasionally.

DeleteMeredith, you know as well as we do that we can't actually comment in the CAF comments. Tbatbis s silly suggestion!! Your blog is actually where many people ended up in researching if they were crazy or alone for getting taken advantage of by JW. I think by not having that forum any longer people won't realize how many former fans of JW ended up right where they are. It might not be the pigs, but it was worthy cause to fight against.

Those who have personal experience dealing with her need to contact the appropriate authorities. As far as a forum, just go to the sham site.

ReplyDeleteI'll be honest, the only reason I haven't commented on your Aryshire Farm posts is because I don't think you have a case. I think you have some evidence but you're not going to get anywhere, and the more you push, the easier it is for those in your community to call you unhinged.

DeleteI don't think you have enough evidence to force the county to act. If they are in the farm's pocket, you would need a much stronger compilation of proven facts to force their hand. Sadly, I don't think you will be able to get more as no one else has come forward with further proof of neglect.

What evidence do you think I do or don't have? The county's innaction isn't due to lack of evidence. In fact they said there were no limiting factors to charges, that the evidence I had was sufficient, etc.

The evidence was forwarded to the commonwealth attorneys office, they don't make game plans and create cases with insufficient evidence.

DeleteMy point is that if you ARE dealing with corrupt officials, you are going to need a hell of a lot more than what you have right now to force their hand. More people coming forward, more corroborating stories, more photos, conversation transcripts, clearer timelines of sickness/lack of meds/vaccination histories, etc. It's not that you don't already have proof of abuse, it's that you don't have enough that you can publicly call out the county without them being able to just brush it aside with a simple 'we investigated, they're making changes, it's done' argument (which seems to be their main response here).
DeleteI don't think you're wrong to follow up; quite the opposite but, realistically, I don't see you forcing them to change at this point in time. Even if one other person came forward, I think that would help tremendously.
Right now, it's too easy to brush you aside as an embittered intern who was canned for lack of performance (and to be clear, I do NOT think that about you but I know it's been said as a way of discrediting what you do have in way of proof of abuse).
I do wish you the best of luck with it but I am afraid I see it as a losing battle. I hope I am wrong.

I do have those things. There are others who will speak on the abuses, unfortunately they are either commenting outside the statute of limitations or are unwilling to do so publically or under oath for fear of retaliation. I had one guy who witnessed physical abuse on the stand. He "couldn't recall" what he previously witnessed. I read him the text message detailing the abuse he saw (that he sent me)...he didn't recall. These people were testifying directly across from the person that would fire then the moment they walked out of the court room.
DeleteI provided other previous employees (all employees who care or are knowledgeable on animal health and behavior are terminated so the others can neglect and abuse) willing to discuss what they saw but Loudoun County did not follow up with them, I provided all contact information. Their excuse, "well, did they call US?"
What make a you think I can canned for lack of performance. I published a text message that clearly says it was due to "budget" ie Meredith is too persistent about treating pigs and is going above my head to do it she need a to go...just like the 3 people before me.
Like I said I have everything but a law degree, and without that I'm useless in a court room against cream of the crop criminal defense lawyers.
All I needed to have crystal Ritenour be found guilty was expert testimony. That's it! I had no clue me providing witness testimony was not enough.
I remember seeing the comment in one of the local Facebook communities before they banned you. :(

Meredith, do you not read what is written? I'm not spreading falsehoods; in fact, I explicitly stated I don't believe that and know it not to be true. But it has been said about you as a way of discrediting your case and the fact that people in the community of the farm have said such things makes your position that much harder. Hell, I only mentioned it as further evidence of corruption! That was my only point.

I am curious, what exactly are you looking for from this farm? Do you want them to shape up, or to pay for their abuse? I think before you will get any traction in the public eye that will actually move you forward, you need to detail this. The fact that you stayed until you were fired will always haunt you unless you have an absolutely detailed time line of everything and I mean all pictures dated and timed."

You opened my eyes to animal cruelty in places where I wouldn't expect it. I now know the value of meeting the farmers, on the farm, who grow the food we eat. I now know what happy, healthy pigs look like (and other animals). The long hosting of CAF comments also provided me with the proof of what I suspected, and prevented me from making some really bad decisions that would have put animals at unnecessary risk.
