Capes vs kilts?

What's the difference?

Capes v kilt?

Wand v weapon?

Elder v expert?

Festival v field?

Living with parents v begging off others parents?

Its all the same thing! I have never seen someone with so much disdain or mockery for others with different interests or view points.

Someone who claims to live life as fiction must realize there are different generas.

Why diminish Harry Potter just because you're more interested in The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings of D&D of World of whatever.

Its all the same thing!

Line up your teddies and play care bears ...dress up your equines and pretend to live in a my little pony fantasy. Dress like a freaking smurf and have tea parties!

Life is a religious experience and knocking how people experience life (as long as they aren't hurting others...or scamming them for that matter) why does it matter how it's expressed?

Personally if I were to live like fiction I would go the way of David the Gnome.

Respect for nature.

Kin with animals.

A fox named swift!

Now you're talking!

  1. You put it perfectly, I coudn't agree more. Who is she to point fingers-- riding in her kilt on a Fell pony paid for by suckas off the internet?

What an empty vessel this girl is--- she watches Vikings and what do you know-- she becomes a Heathen. Now she finds herself unconsciously "raising the horn" in crowded restaurants in thanks to her ancestors. Since she's a hipster, there needs to be irony--- so it was likely across the table from her much slighted mother.

  2. Well said Meredith.

I've never understood that aspect of Jenna - CONSTANTLY promoting her fantasy life but demeaning other people's interests.

What is this forum she's talking on?

  3. Oh F her. She wants to throw pagan stereotypes around? Careful with those stones when you're in the glass house of one of the branches of paganism most known for having ties to Neo-Nazis, Jenna.

And WTF is wrong with face paint and capes and wands if that's what you're called to in your practice? It's not hurting anybody, sheesh.

  4. She is so immature and desperately trying to fit in - anywhere...and to fit in, she thinks she has to put down others. She acts like a teenager, not a 30- something.

  5. It's odd, when I read 'Made from Scratch', (written when JW was in her 20's), I thought she had a very mature voice for her age. Now when I read her 'Shieldmare' or 'Corbie' posts, it reminds me of my teenage daughter and her roleplay/cosplay games.

Is it possible for someone to regress in maturity, or was I just deceived by her like many were financially?

    1. That's a good way to look at it. She does seem really immature now - more so than before. It seems to me it started when she quit her day job. Maybe now that she isn't around "normal" people who work all day for a living, she has slipped so deep into herself and her fantasy world??

    2. You know, I've always felt there was something sort of unworldly about her. Like she doesn't get out much. She seems to rely heavily on stereotypes and frequently thinks she's unique or special for engaging in some activity or other when it's not at all unusual.

And, Anon 11:02, your point about her no longer being around "normal" people is interesting. It seems she has a rather sizable squadron of cheerleaders that find everything she does to be extraordinary and even heroic--- and no one to keep her massive ego in check. In that regard, leaving her day job may be one of the worst decisions she's ever made. She's surrounded herself with people that feed her what she wants to hear and nothing else.

    3. Anon 12:02 - Your last sentence was right on the mark. That is exactly what Jon Katz was warning her about. He hit rock bottom when he surrounded himself with Amen Charlies who told him only what he wanted to hear and not what he needed to hear.

    4. I know both of these people, Katz better than Jenna. Katz hit rock bottom when he didn't want to listen to reason from people who cared. He only listened to people that yessed him to a break down. He broke off relationships from anyone that didn't agree with him doing all the things that he later admitted were mistakes. Jenna will eventually hit bottom also.

    5. Katz's post was a kindness, a wake-up call which she obviously failed to heed.

If she ever gets off the crazy train her so-called friends are gonna have some 'splaining to do.

    6. Like Jenna, it bothers me when people aren't seen for what they are. Katz doesn't do much that isn't self-serving in some fashion. Like Jenna, many, many local people have learned this. There are lots of incidents of which I have first hand knowledge. If he's helping someone, there is a backstory for it. They are much alike.

    7. If there were a blog like this for Katz it would be very well read, trust me.

  6. So now she posts on Facebook that she is working on a new memoir? I thought she was working on Birchthorn. And Cold Antler Clan blogs? No wonder she is behind in those as well as her logos and everything else she does.

I am beginning to believe that even having to 'work' at writing Birchthorn and creating logos is annoying to her. Cuts into her playtime. But I truly believe she likes writing about herself. It's all about 'me, me, me'.

  7. Well, she's certainly been neglecting her blog lately and it's only getting worse. Last Monday she said she was going to write about farm sanctuaries and "share some new recipes and stories of the routine here every morning" in the week ahead..........nope. Then on Saturday there was a promise made of photos and blog post to come after her archery workshop........nope.

She did manage to post a couple puppy pics and the post about Merlin being an asshole.....again. And of the course the various promos.

And she thinks people should sign up for a subscription? She's too lazy to even blog now.

  8. Oh man. I'm all for a young person experimenting with spirituality. Hell, I'm okay with anyone experimenting with spirituality - and religion. However, Jenna seems to have no emotional maturity whatsoever. It seems every time she reads or watches some new pop culture product, she "becomes" it. I can't take her seriously at all. I'm mostly solitary, but have practiced Celtic Druidism for about 20 years. I also integrate other beliefs into my spiritual practice, such as Buddhist dharma, some Christian beliefs, etc. However, I rarely CALL myself a Druid. If anything, I call myself agnostic, because I also have heavy atheistic leanings (as far as dogmatic beliefs go). I'm very comfortable in my beliefs and really don't feel the need to wear them on my sleeve. Jenna can believe/practice what she wants, but she just comes off as flakey and highly insecure with herself when she changes her religion every month, and feels the need to label and posture with it. It's strange. I feel for her. She seems to be grabbing at anything that might make her feel part of a group. I don't want to bash her, and I don't personally know her, but there are red flags all over the place of isolation, depression, and major manic personality. I would even throw some NPD in there, too. I'm not trying to diagnose, but just see what I see from her posts. There are definitely some issues. I look to this woman's future and it seems grim. I hope that I'm wrong. -RS

    1. It makes you wonder where she'll be in 10 years. Probably living in a hut in some desert smoking peyote to induce visions......

    2. I have thought "manic" for a long time. The extremes of feeling "magical" versus "scared" are the two ends of her spectrum, and she resides at the extreme ends of both regularly enough that I do think its a problem. Her overspending, swinging back towards scarcity and "wolves at the door" cycle is another indicator of the same.

      Delete
    3. She uses the "scared" excuse every time someone says something she doesn't like, or something a teeny bit "negative." Like: "Don't quit your job Jenna, you won't be able to pay your bills." Jenna: " What you said was so scary and mean, I'm going to call the police and buy a gun." She has very disorganized thinking.

  9. Well, it's little wonder she doesn't have the time to do pesky things like send thank-you notes to contributors and such. She's much too busy online with games and fantasies and role playing. She really does seem addicted.

  10. She posts about having diarrhea and gets lauded for her authenticity. Jenna's keepin' it real, one flush at a time.

  12. Yet another post putting down the rest of us who don't make the same choices she makes:

"I know a few people around here have swimming pools but I am telling you they are wasting their money and missing out! A live river with new people to meet, fishing, currents, eddy and stone beaches is wonderful thing! "

Perhaps people who have pools enjoy having their friend and family over for a cookout with music and a dip in the pool???? Why can't she just explain how wonderful her river trip was without putting down anyone else??

    1. Says the girl who spends summer nights getting wasted in Pattys hot tub. Does she not realize many people simply can't pick up and go to a location and swim? Individuals with families or home based businesses are blessed to cool off in a pool at home.

  13. and she is really one to talk about "wasting money........." A $1000 puppy or truck/mortgage/root canal/existing animals.

    A puppy, of course!!

  14. Well, there are zero comments on her last two posts. Perhaps other people are getting tired of hearing about how she plays all day and wondering why they would want to send her money!

  15. Comments are dwindling for sure. Yesterday she pledged to write a blog post about playing hooky and her "adventure with two great friends!".......nope. Too.Lazy.To.Blog.

    3. You mean playing hooky from fulfilling her obligations like creating logos for clients or writing Birchthorn? Oh, that's right. She was paid up front for those. So what's the hurry?

  16. I have a question - do you think that the Coldantler blog comments are down because the "action" has moved to Facebook? I read that blogs are dying out because people Facebook instead. I'm not on Facebook, but some of the blogs I used to read have dried up in the past few years. Have the number of comments on the Coldantler Facebook page increased as the comments on the blog have decreased?

    1. She's not getting a lot of comments on FB either. Not really the place for long posts. Most of her likes and comments are on pictures rather than posts.

Yes, traffic is down all around at CAF, even workshops seem to get less response.
