Little scarf!

Working on this scarf.

Started brown, realized I was running low and switched to red, and will finish it with brown.

Add some fringe and maybe sell?

What are you all working on?

  1. I love knitting, and your scarf's looking great. Right now I'm finishing up a baby blanket and hat set for my newborn nephew! For me, the appeal knitting and farming come from the same place: I want to have a more direct/intimate relationship with the things in my life. Does anyone else feel that way?

  2. I find knitting relaxing and like to knit small projects - scarves, hats and mittens mostly. I prefer to buy my yarn directly from the farmers. Either at craft shows or farm markets. Somehow, I feel it brings me closer to the earth when I buy locally produced yarn, rather than mass market yarn at a big box store. I especially like to work with handspun yarn - love the way it feels through my fingers. There is a great book called Homespun, Handknit with lots of small projects for handspun yarn.

  3. Turning 50 pounds of freeze-damaged cabbage into sauerkraut. Er, if that counts as a craft project?

  4. Your scarf looks great! I do not knit, but I crochet. My 18-year-old son started a scarf for himself - his first crochet project ever. It's a bit deeper red than the one you did. He lost interest about halfway through, so I'm finishing it. LOL
