A closer look

This is textbook mange.  A severe advanced case at that.

Its absolutely appalling to defend the condition of this animal.

I'm thrilled it hasn't been removed from Mariams website.

Makes you wonder who has the better (or worse really) life.

A factory farmed disease free pig or an outdoor pig covered in external parasites rubbing itself raw?

  1. I've often thought factory farm>CAF as far as welfare goes. Never forget, she over-wintered pigs without decent shelter. Decaying remnants of "pigoda" is not a shelter, no sides. Just a brutal, callous way to treat pigs-- especially considering they have nothing in the way of a coat for protection.

    1. Especially when it's not a heritage breed...especially when there is hair loss due to mange.

All they need is draft free and dry. Its SO simple.

  2. It's perfectly clear that those pigs are NOT muddy, but are instead ill, to anyone who has half a clue about pigs. What really is hilarious is that all the people defending her on FB are saying people with no clue shouldn't comment. THEY are the ones with no clue. Those wrinkles and the scabby skin are NOT normal or healthy at all.
