  1. Wow, they'll be off to their new homes before long. Nice, healthy looking pups thanks to you guys. Nice job!

    1. The one on the far right "diesel" actually went to his new home with johnathons sister today. 5 years ago I would have been critical of them going at 6 weeks but now I'm leaning towards it's right in this situation. Super experienced home with other dogs and 3 people doting on the puppy. I don't feel it will impact the development at all...in fact I think he's fortunate. Juggling these pups isn't easy!

The other 2 are sticking around for another week or so. The girl in the middle might be hanging out longer.

I had to separate calis litter from the mom at 4 weeks due to safety issues due to the person who owned The mom...the difference between 4 and 6 weeks is HUGE!

  2. My favorite is the stoner brother on the far right. He's so cute!

    1. Yeah, he looks like he just woke up from a nap!

    2. Haha that summarizes him well. He's been the bump on a log from the start.

That's against the law in PA.

    1. No puppies were sold. You do your best in rescue situations where you are cleaning up the mess of irresponsible owners.

  5. They are adorable. And hello Anonymous, they aren't being sold. They were from a rescue to begin with.

  6. If y'all had bothered to read the link, you sould have seen it states:

    "Pennsylvania
    PA ST 3 P.S. § 459-603

PA St 3 P.S. 459-214 for importation of dogs into state

Anyone Under eight weeks old Barter, trade, raffle, sell, auction or in any way transfer ownership
    "Unlawful" - not otherwise specified

Unless the dog has been orphaned and goes to/from a nonprofit kennel with vet approval."

These puppies weren't from a "rescue". The mother was a stray that was taken in by a kind person. The person who owns the mother is under legal obligation to keep those puppies until they are 8 weeks old, by PA law. It doesn't matter if money exchanged hands. You cannot transfer ownership in any way.

    1. We will euthanize all the puppies instead.

    2. Funny you think.I.give 2 shits about that law. The care and well being of the individual puppies is most important. They are just fine.

Want to make a difference? Make some calls about animal cruelty....or bitch and moan about these puppies that are healthy, safe, and sound.

Help spread the word about the pigs abused and neglected at Certified Humane Ayrshire Farm in Upperville VA. I worked there and what goes on is horrific. The farm owner Sandy Lerner is going to court for criminal animal cruelty based on a criminal complaint I made because Loudoun County Animal Services refuses to publically acknowledge the abuse or press charges. Please sign the petition to reopen the criminal animal cruelty investigation against Ayrshire Farm.

I'm sorry for the graphic images of the pigs from Ayrshire Farm but need to show the extent of the problem. Untreated pigs with mange, pig lice, severe internal parasites, coccidia, etc. Not one vet was called to the farm during my 9 months working there to examine a pig. A vet never looked at any of these pigs.

Please consider signing the petition requesting Loudoun County Animal Services to reopen the criminal animal cruelty investigation at Ayrshire Farm.

    3. Btw..."technically" she was there when the puppies were born and claimed that one from the start. She's owned the dog from day one.

    4. Sheetz was not from a rescue orgsnization..she was rescued. Johnathon IS the rescue.

  7. Hey, that's cool. So you just want to pick and choose what laws to follow. I remember you giving JW shit about selling chicks, and you finding in the NY law that there had to be a minimum # of chicks sold, and getting all upset about that. But it's cool...the law only pertains to others and not you. Good to know!

    1. Yes there is absolutely a difference between a commercial enterprise and a rescue situation.

    2. Hey, JW, is that you? Again?!?

    3. Right? Exploiting vs making the best of a difficult situation.

  8. Hilarious. You assume I'm JW because I dare question the almighty Meredith. LOL. Classic. I guarantee, I'm not Jenna, and I'm not a Jenna fan. I just hate seeing hypocrisy from someone who consistently bashes anyone who dares raise animals differently than she does. You know as well as I do that you would freak out if anyone else tried to rehome puppies before the law allowed.

And don't for one minute pretend that this is a rescue situation. Yes, the mother was rescued BEFORE she had the puppies. This is rehoming, not rescuing. Those puppies are not in imminent danger. You're not following the law, just admit that instead of trying to pretend it's a life or death situation.

    1. She was pregnant before he got her.

The puppy is not in imminent danger now either.

I stated 5 years ago I would have been critical...perhaps given them the same response you gave me.

Now, after 10 years of sole dog ownership, 5 of intensive fostering...puppies 6 weeks of age w/o their moms included, house fire, tragic deaths, living out of my car and even staying in a garage for 2 months this year to keep my canine family together etc I have perspective.

This is not a breeder churning out litter after litter selling puppies at 6 weeks to any Tom Dick or Harry. These are 3 very large, very healthy, very ready to go to their new home puppies. The new family is VERY dog savvy and have 5 dogs already and are able to give this puppy of weaning age everything he possibly needs or wants.

If this was a large litter maybe it would be differebt but these pups are huge and healthy. At 6 weeks mom already wants nothing to do with the pups. They have mouths full of crazy sharp teeth and are eating hard food and drinking water. We actually have to keep them separated at times to keep the pups safe as Sheetz is food aggressive and with few exceptions doesn't allow the pups to nurse. She will not lay for them to nurse but will let them latch for a few moments if they snag her when she's standing.

The fact you can't see the difference between this situation and buying and reselling chicks by the trio is most unfortunate.

Email me and I will give you my personal information so you can contact the appropriate authorities.

    2. Well done Meredith. Responsible rehoming is admirable, especially with a mother like that. The fact she nursed them at all surprised me after the initial rejection.

    3. Meredith and Co. have done well by these puppies. I've enjoyed the pics, watching them grow has been a lot fun. The pups early placement seems well thought and reasonable.

    4. Sheetz has been really good and patient...with her 3 puppies and my 3 seniors.

      She's a really good dog.

    5. Nope, you have it wrong. I questioned if you were JW because your comments came across to me as rather rude and self-righteous. If that was your intent, it worked. If it wasn't your intent, then I think you need to work on your words a little bit.
