I responded on another post that I had ducklings on the way. They've hatched! Unfortunately, I can't get a pic right now (I'll keep trying) because they are cloistered in a brush pile and I keep the food & water just inside the opening for them. I did see when they came to play in the dish of water that there are at least five.
On another note, a rooster wandered into my yard. Randall the Random Rooster. Nobody has responded to my Craigslist ad yet. He's frankly settling in with my girls quite nicely and doesn't seem aggressive. He is a beautiful standard size Old English Gamefowl, birchen in color. I guess I can send you an email with a pic when I get one of the ducklings, too.
Don't know if I'll get around to a garden this year, but I'm hoping.
Doing well as well! Garden is half in and our red ranger chickens wil be ready to harvest in a couple more weeks. I got them out of a mislabeled TSC bin (thought they were cornish crosses) but can't recommend this breed enough. Super hardy and they are having happy chicken lives outside.
Daughter is doing well! Almost fully recovered. She's very lucky that she was in a modern country (Panama) where they could treat her with the latest medical techniques/drugs. She's been home for a long while now, in Fairbanks. I'm so glad she is doing well. That was very scary. Thanks for asking.
