As if this story could get worse...the founder and director of Humane Farm Animal Care perjurs herself to protect a certified farm involved in criminal animal cruelty.
You cannot "move forward with perjury charges". That is the job of the commonwealth prosecutor, because perjury is a criminal offense. BTW, ordinary lying in court (if that happened) is not perjury. People lie in court all the time. Virtually no one is charged with perjury. There is no chance the commonwealth attorney would prosecute perjury in this case, even if it occurred. Prosecutors have discretion in charging crimes; it is not your right to a prosecution.

Both Crystal Ritenour and Sandy Lerner were charged with criminal offences. None of their charges were brought by the CA.
DeleteAdwlle Douglass's perjury directly impacted the outcome of the trial. The judge determined the pigs were withheld necessary veterinary care. The code section states "failure to provide by owner". The judge based on evidence and testimony could not BEYOND a reasonable doubt conclude Sandy was aware of the problems. He interpreted the code loosely.
Adele was on the farm WITH Sandy WITH the pigs during the timeline of the criminal complaint. Her honest testimony was key.
Unfortunately the photographer who took pictures of Adele and Sandy with the pigs did not show up to testify despite being subpoenaed to do so. Unless Adele is blind she saw the pigs with Sandy during a tour of the farm.
I believe perjury is a felony and only the CA can bring charges. This isn't going to prevent me from providing the Sate Police the information necessary concerning Adele Douglass perjuring herself.
Please explain how my case was weak. Wish you would have introduced yourself at trial.

The witness/photographer failed to appear on subpoena. I described how to handle that situation.
Years ago in court I watched a judge suspend the proceedings for a couple of hours, and announce in open court that if (name of person subpoenaed) did not voluntarily appear within one hour, the judge was going to issue a bench order for a writ of bodily attachment to the sheriff to go the person’s house and arrest the person, and bring the person in handcuffs to the hearing.
The person’s daughter was in the audience, and called her mother to relay the message. There were a number of sheriff’s deputies standing by in the courtroom, waiting to see if the judge entered a bench order for a writ of bodily attachment, which the deputies would enforce and use to pickup the person, and bring the person in handcuffs to the courtroom. The person voluntarily appeared in court within the hour, got a lecture from the judge on contempt, and was permitted to testify. That’s how its done, Meredith.

You failed to enforce the provisions of the subpoena against the photographer, the one person who could testify about the photograph and what it depicted, to impeach any "perjury".

Ayrshire Farm failed the pigs. Sandy Lerner and her staff fail the pigs. Adele Douglass and Humane Farm Animal Care failed the pigs. Loudoun County and the Commonwealth Attorneys Office failed the pigs. The list goes on and on.
I will never consider myself a failure for not being able to do the job of both lawyer and animal control officer while simultaneously having to provide witness testimony.
I'm not a one man band and should not have to be.
Belittle my efforts all you want. I'm not going to live in the past reliving the trial and second guessing why I could or should have done differently.

That does not mean you are a failure. "I will never consider myself a failure for not being able to..." Somehow you misconstrue legitimate criticism as a personal failure. How sad for you.

When you represent yourself, it is your job to "enforce VA state code", that was the basis of this legal action.

But in the real life world it is your responsibility to "enforce VA state code" once you initiate a legal action that requires you to "enforce VA state code".

Perhaps you don’t know, but the U.S. legal system, both civil and criminal, is an adversarial system, essentially a legal fight between two or more parties.

You might argue the U.S. legal system is unfair, and there is plenty of evidence that the system is unfair, corrupt, broken etc. But under the current system, the advocate for a party (you) have ultimate responsibility for to getting your witness on the stand to testify.

America has become one of the most corrupt countries in the world. In my view the corruption is past the tipping point. It is amazing how many people posted about Jenna, a really trivial matter overall. But where are the Jenna-bashers when needed to fight government corruption, corruption like Meredith encountered? They don’t give a shit, they just want to bash Jenna.
Mistreatment of pigs, bad. Government corruption, worse. Public apathy, the ultimate crime.

Through my efforts I've discovered others who have faced corruption in Loudoun County and are fighting their own similar battles.
One man filed a federal suit against Jim Plowman, the commonwealth attorney, for violating civil liberties such as censoring and blocking people from government affiliated Facebook pages. I too have been blocked from posting on numerous county pages.
Its a shame that the government and media censor and control the spread of information. What is absolutely appalling is citizens indifference to it all.
