Adult coloring books

I acquired an adult coloring book.

My thoughts...

I wish it was easier?!

Its hard to turn off the perfectionist, the realization there is no eraser, the options, second guessing, twenty second guessing...

This made me realize to truly relax, I need a paint by number!

  1. I've looked at these several times and they look like they would drive me crazy. I need to just buy a kid's coloring book and a pack of crayons. Lol.

  2. Just beautiful!

I agree about color by number. Trying to decide on colors drove me crazy. I ended up putting my pencils in a pile and then just picked out each one randomly. The results were actually pretty interesting! It was very relaxing and I didn't have to think about it.

  3. I tried these once on the recommendation that they were relaxing & meditative. Helpful for those with anxiety issues. Maybe it works for others, but I found that I could still do a WHOLE lot of overthinking while coloring. Getting up and moving works better for me.

  4. I love the fact that you are forced to focus on it. A while back I picked up one to enjoy with my daughter. My husband, the perfectionist, walked by as I was starting my first one. He decided to try it and actually completed one.

    1. But here's the thing--so what if you mess it up!!! Nobody is going to grade it. Heck, who's going to see it?

A lesson I had to learn about these, scrapbooking, stamping, etc. Just do it or you'll miss out on it!

  6. Look on Amazon there is an adult coloring book called Calm The F*ck Down. It has beautiful patterns with hilarious sayings. My favorite is "Karma is another way of saying HA HA f*ck you!"
    Funny stuff
