Mangy Pegs?

These piglets look mangy to me. Hope it's not the case...but if so it is easily treated with dewormer available from a local feed store.

Lovely claim to pastured pig fame is the name of that photo game.

Lets not forget the 2 pigs living in the dark barn in the background.

Selective photography at its best.

  1. I think you are right-hair loss is evident- right where you would see it with mange.

  2. I think every animal on her "farm" needs to be checked for worms.

  3. I thought they looked a bit small for their age. Weren't some bought in the spring?

    1. From her blog the 2 spring pigs are kept penned in the barn 24/7

  4. Hair loss yes, and if you look at the piglets legs on the far left you will see what appears to be the start of the hairless crusty skin lesions.

  5. I do see what looks like hair loss, but the legs look muddy to me. Hard to tell from that pic.

  6. Jenna, for ONCE and for ALL, PLEASE stop using the word "scrappy" as code for skanky, ill maintained and dirty. How you can take a picture of that electric fence is beyond me, unless, of course you are blind. And, please treat your pigs for mange- after seeing them on the video it is clear they have mange. Lovely- oops, I mean SCRAPPY!
