My small old blind dog fell down a flight of stairs last summer, someone had left the basement door open. I was in the basement and heard him, and by the time I got to him, he was up, shaking himself off and seemed rather proud that he managed to find me. Sigh.
Is traction an issue?

I bookmarked this site a while ago, thinking I might want them someday-- haven't yet so I can't offer any good/bad reviews.
One reason I prefer smaller dogs now is it's so much easier to help them when they're old.
