Yipes! Sorry for that. Restaurants are another place I notice loud music. I want to talk with the people at my table, not be blasted by someone else's music. A friend told me restaurants do this to turn the tables, so people don't just hang out. Well, it makes me not go to that restaurant at ALL. I feel I should wrap this up with "kids these days!" and "get off my lawn!" and other phrases for my impending dotage. If I'm not already there!
I had to wear ear muffs (like shooters wear) when I worked briefly at Jabil Circuit, a division of Cisco Systems, building ethernet boards. My work station was one of 40 or so, most of them had portable radios playing loud music on different stations. Drove me nuts!
I even wore earplugs, with ear muffs on top.
Eventually I had to leave. Was like working under slave conditions. Okay, that is an exaggeration, but that is how I felt.
The other issue, one toilet for 40 people, men-women, same seat. During the 20 minute break there was a line to pee/poop. Talk about a "hot" seat full of germs! Honestly, I rather work on a farm and go behind a bush.
And I only want to work on a farm with a good boss, someone like Meredith. A taskmaster, maybe, but a fair taskmaster, I believe.
If I was an attractive woman, with no other skills/education, I'd try stripping. A dollar here, a dollar there, it adds up. But the loud music might be a problem at a strip club. Maybe I could wear ear muffs, like hunters wear...
Not alone -- this is me at work. Does anyone understand the concept of background music anymore?
ReplyDeleteYes! It's makes me SO irritable. I hate it. My head is currently about to explode.

Blech Cisco Systems...that's how Sandy Lerner made her millions.
DeleteI saw a show on making those boards. It seemed so monotonous and repedative.
All those people for one bathroom? Awful.
Haha that could be your stripper appeal...the sexy hunter
Nope, not alone. I might turn up a really good song in the car but only if I'm by myself.
ReplyDeleteI hate loud music. Always have. Gives me a headache too.
