Is that a Tacoma? My dream truck! I really, really wanted one when my last car got totaled, but had to settle for a Honda CRV (which I love, and it's handy, but it's not a truck).
The good side: Toyotas last forever. My ex had a Tacoma with 220k on it. He got another one, similar but older than the one shown above - a silver TRD also. Those TRDs are really great 4 wheel drive vehicles. Can go through anything that can be got through.
The not-so-good side. They are expensive to buy, to fix and to run (gas mileage). Since they are built well, they are heavier, so the gas mileage pretty much sucks. But usually, if you do have to repair them it's not too often, cause of the well-built factor.
Just some personal experience info for ya! Looks like a beauty. Let us know what you decide!
It's a 2001 Toyota Tacoma (my wish truck for my current needs) SR5 manual 4x4 TDR (toyota racing development...whatever that is) 150,000 miles. $8,100 obo.
I currently drive a 04 Toyota corolla purchased in 04 with 15,000 miles...170,000 now.
oh how useful that truck would be! throw farm use tags on it and use it sparingly.
Think I'll call to get a better idea of 'obo' price and look at comparable vehicles. I've checked with my bank, but what's the average interest rate on a vehicle loan?
The TRD is an off-road package. Automatic differential lock on the rear when you're in 4WD. Skid plates, sturdier shocks, and some other heavier-duty parts. If you are off-road at all, that differential lock makes it so if one rear wheel is stuck and the other isn't, the "unstuck" wheel won't sit there & spin. The diff. sends all the power to the stuck wheel. At any rate, they are one of the best off-road vehicles, those Tacomas. If I could afford one, I'd get one! ;-)
