Willy is on stall rest, recovering from a recent surgery.
Because he can not yet physically work, his owner has been keeping him stimulated and training him mentally through tricks.
Here he is painting.
Seriously.
She says 'take' and he holds the brush (pre dipped in paint) and like a pro makes brush strokes on the the canvas.
He even smiles on cue with his painting.
Too cool!
(expect now I have to train a pig to paint...though let a pig paint may be more like it)
I think she should sell them.
Simply framed, framed as requested, on actual canvas, or just on paper.
When asked what colors I would like him to use, I chose orange, yellow, and red. She did not have orange paint to what orange you see is created through the combination of yellow and red strokes.
Pick your paints!
Would this be something you or anyone you know would consider purchasing?
I am encouraging her to give the public an opportunity to own one.
A painting actually made by Willy the horse..100% horse painted art!
What would you pay?
I'm curious as I'm a fan of as well as director of my own farm art. (FarmART...or fART for short).
Also curious, I never imagined many people donated to Jenna Woginrich at Cold Antler Farm. I'am surprised at the amount of comments from those who have donated, some multiple times.
How much have you donated to the Jenna Show over the years?
...for those who regret doing to or feel cheated, don't. You were scammed. Theres a reason the word conartist exists.
Organiconartist?
Welcome to organiconstock 2014 folks(son)(darling)!
Sorry for the fuzzy pictures. It's been a high humidity muddy evening on the farm...and I use my phones camera as visual memory. Not smart really. I dropped it between my bibs and pants aiming for a pocket. Ergh. Need to be more careful.
Yeah, I got sucked in. Three donations over the last year. Not getting a thank you should have tipped me off but no. Not a cheap lesson but a good one.
ReplyDeleteI doNated three times too! Never even a email thanks. I mean how hard is that? Cut and paste is darn easy and for a writer, you would think she could write up a sweet little thanks... Whenever a get a donation on my blog... Which happens now and then, you can damn sure bet I write out a very thankful note and send it because I know it was a very gracious nod and I very much appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteI never donated to Jenna because I learned that lesson before I found the CAF blog. I donated $5 (yeah, not much, but it was all I could give at the time) to Granny Miller, who was a farmer who posted lots of helpful tips. She needed a new computer to handle the blog and all that came with it. Shortly after she bought her new computer, she stopped blogging and got a big attitude. I didn't get a thank you from her either.
ReplyDeleteSince then I've thought if people want to live a certain life, then they should fund it themselves. I don't ask for money on my blog, instead I set up an Etsy shop and sell products, which help support my lifestyle.
I also never donated to Jenna because I'm about her age and although I'm married, I do the daily care of the animals myself. Before I was married I had livestock, and I cared for them myself. I thought if she wanted to live that life, she should pay for it herself.
I think donating to things like animal rescue, Good Will, food pantries, etc, are all worthy causes. Supporting someone's lifestyle is not. Giving money so people can have nicer cameras or more animals is not, IMO.
It's one thing if you're buying a product (as long as said product is actually delivered), but another if you're just donating money.
I almost donated several times...but something kept me from pulling the trigger each time, and that something was pausing just for a moment and thinking. I have lots of homestead-y pursuits that I have funded myself, despite not having a large income by any stretch of the imagination. I funded these projects (chickens, gardens, rain barrels, etc. etc.) through TAKING EXTRA JOBS and SCAVENGING FOR MATERIALS. I wouldn't have DREAMED of asking someone to fund my lifestyle decisions. When I thought of it that way, I used my extra dollars to help a dog at a local shelter get surgery after he was hit by a car, and that seemed like a much better decision!
ReplyDeleteI have never donated to her. I did have the blog set up as my second tab upon startup, to give her hits. That was fir a few months, until she caught the hawk and I finally realized she has no intention of ever supporting herself 100%, She'd rather pla at her hobbies and beg.
ReplyDeleteI don't donate money to people any more. Not after I sent someone money to help her with rent. Well, her father also gave her rent money, and two days later, she bought a Doctor Who box set because it was on sale.
I fell for the sad pleas and donated twice. The thought of a nice email or blog post saying thank you was due, but in the comment section she stated she was too busy to do so. No one is ever too busy to say thank you. Never again will I donate to her or anyother blogger. I will and do help those in my area, who I know personally and are kind enough to say thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou know. The only way you would be too busy to acknowledge a free gift of cash is if you were getting so many that it was overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteIt bullshit that she can take the time to do all her hobbies and such and can't take two minutes to say thank you for a donation. They come in with a email notice with a hot link for the person's email if they are from PayPal. So what, a minute? Click, write thanks a bunch, heck, paste a predone little thing and click send?
How long did it take the donor to work for that money? They weren't too busy to work and earn that cash they are sending her.
How pathetic that she can't even take a minute or two to acknowledge those that are taking the minute or two to give her hard earned money...
I have donated to her a couple times, never again. Bought all her books, never again. She's never even sent me a quick email thanks for the donations. I have donated to other bloggers/online folks that I have enjoyed their writing and personal tales online... and each and everyone wrote nice thank you emails, one even wrote a real note and it so touched me. Of course, she didn't have to, but the point is, I gladly like to help when I can, and it's just polite to at least give them a nod! Heck, she could make a simple post and say thank you and perhaps list first names and an intial for last. How hard would that be?
Stupid woman. If she took that moment to respond in kind, she would probably endear herself to many more people, that, might help fund her lifestyle choices.

ReplyDeleteIt's just shear laziness or ego or inconsiderate behavior that she doesn't thank people. Hell she's worked for 3 companies that do email blasts daily, she must know how to do them. It not rocket science.
ReplyDeleteI sent out over 100 thank yous last week for the nonprofit I work at and those are printed, hand signed, sealed and stamped. Only took me an hour.
It's not time it's laziness, or maybe it's entitlement. She deserves the money so need to thank anyone for it.
I was surprised, too, at how many people seem to donate to her. And not only money, but all sorts of stuff: tack, clothing, musical instruments, lumber and farm equipment Not to mention all the people who've given her free labor. Strange.
