A Cold Antler Farm supporter posts that it's cruel and inhumane for an animal to live their life alone...while at the same time excited about their purchase of a pig who lives alone (a cruel and inhuman existence by their own decree/standards...).
How does one even approach an individual with such severe disconnect. They apparently support a cause enough to post about it on Facebook but don't see what they speak out against is exactly what they are paying to support.
I really don't get it. No part of me understands the ability to fake convictions...or is this genuine ignorance?
...and the Icing on the cake?
Jenna is potentially going to breed the "boar in the barn". Say goodbye to your 1/4 pig Catijoe, your freezer won't see him (or any other Cold Antler Farm pork) within the next 3 to forever years. But I assure you, Jenna will invite you over for a fine meal in exchange for hard labor...to include the meat of the paid but unfilled pork shares of those before you.
...and she's starting back up with selling useless crap and crying about the farm needing support. It's a broken record...and I feel badly for the people who fall for it.
That is a REALLY sad picture, particularly when we know that pigs are as intelligent and sensitive as dogs. I'm a vegetarian, but if I were a meat eater I would still give animals access to the outdoors while they're alive. They deserve the opportunity to experience the joys of earth, at least for a while. Buying pork from CAF isn't superior to buying from any commercial farm, if the animal has no access to sunlight and no freedom of movement. See Kristin Kimball's blog post of October 31, 2014 (kristinkimball.com). Her pigs appear to have a good quality of life.
You said it... I DARE them to :) I mean, I want to see them :) By the way, Jenna only cleans that pen out after the animal has been killed (while standing in that pen), so it gets kinda gushy.. and keeping this thing in there for years ought to make it nice and ripe- ripe enough for the neighbors to enjoy.
I don't know.... It's probably worse to be the chicken owned by Jenna. They get eaten by the pigs in the barn! It all just boggles the mind, this "farm" that needs constant support, and a continuous inflow of animals. Cold Antler Farm reminds me of a residential feed lot. Animals obtained half-grown are fattened up then disposed of. Unless you're Jasper, and not worth fattening up, just getting rid of cuz you're not cool enough to stick around. Dev
How deep is that bedding??? Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months.

I'm confused...is Catijoe happily purchasing a hog quarter or rebuking the faux operation of JWs? Where did this come from?

ReplyDeleteThat is such a sad picture. He looks so miserable. Pigs need to be in groups.
ReplyDeleteWho the heck wants to ear a boar?
